CAS on Sunday - Balloons

Another day at the gym...more stationary bike.  I have to see about getting my bike fixed soon. Hoping that I can ride again in another few weeks, but the bike needs to be fixed soon.  And they had to cut off my favorite bicycling shirt, so need to find a new favorite!

Time for another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is Balloons!  Super fun lots of fun things to do with this theme.  I focused on using a new die cut set that I haven't had a chance to use yet.  Here's what I came up with!

I started by creating a mask for my balloons.  I then used distress ink to apply color, in rainbow order. Ensuring that I had applied a bit of the darker color on the bottom and used a lighter color on top.

I then die cut my sentiment...it took me awhile to figure out what color to use...yellow, red, green...finally I settled on teal.  I added a bit of distress ink to the sentiment for a bit of dimension.

I thought I was done at this point, but it looked a little empty so I added some mini stars and teal confetti.

Here's a close up....this is a flat card for easy mailing!

Hope to see what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Sihouette

Another nice day on the horizon, and I'm feeling better every day.  I'm going to try and talk my hubby to come out on the court with me next week...wish me luck!

We have another fun challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS! We have a terrific sponsor for this challenge...Stamplorations! You'll want to come on over and see if you can win a gift certificate for this terrific shop!

Here's my take on the theme...looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

This is a quick card.  I started off by die cutting the background scene in a dark grey color.  I then added a bit of distress ink around the edges.

I used distress ink to create my background clouds.  Then stamped the sentiment.

I added a few silver (I know some look red) stars around the sentiment as it looked a little empty without it!

Here's a close up view---and the stars look silver here :)

Come on and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

Less is More - Exotic

Each day is getting a bit better.  It is now much easier to type and I can type with two hands again! More time in the gym which has been good, I'm hoping next week my hubby will take me out to the courts for some mild hitting practice :)  Please!!!!!

Time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week the challenge theme is Exotic! Wow...wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with this one...but here's what I came up with.

I went through my stamp set and settled on this fun little bird.  I haven't used this one and was anxious to try it out!

I stamped the bird, masked him off, stamped the tree, then masked them both off.  I then created the background sky...love these clouds!

I then colored my images with Copic Markers and stamped the sentiment.

All in all, a pretty quick card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Hope you come on over a join us. We are looking forward to what you come up with!

Tag You're It Challenge #54

I'm heading out to the gym to do more stationary bike work this morning.  At least I'm able to do that now, which is keeping me active.  My husband may even play tennis with me next week....we'll see how it looks then...

We have another challenge starting over at Tag You're It.  We have a new inspiration tag from Michelle Short...super sweet.  Come on over and see what the rest of the team came up with...also we would love to have you join!   You have a chance to create a future inspiration tag...how fun is that!

I was inspired by Michelle's inky background with a single floral in the front. Here's what I came up with, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

This is a very quick and easy tag.  I simply started by die cutting my tag and inking it up with distress ink.

I then stamped and die cut my images from white card stock.  I then decided to add a vellum leave.  A little pearl for the center of the flower.  I then stamped my sentiment and done!

Birthday - Take Two

Okay, I'm getting a bit bored with my low activity level.  But each day I'm feeling a little stronger.  I went to the gym today to work out on the stationary bike and that was fun---can't believe I'm saying working out in the gym is fun!

Anywho...I ordered some new VersaColor and Versafine ink and wanted to check out the colors. I'm in desperate need of birthday cards, though aren't we always :)  I decided to remake this card that I had made several months back.

I started by stamping my sentiment in the middle.  Then I used a circle die to lightly sketch my circle, I then used an old Hero Arts Mini Stamp to stamp my flowers in a circle.  It is not a clear stamp, so it was a little bit hit and miss to see if I would get it in my circle.  In the end, I think I did okay...and I love these vibrant colors!

Here's a close up of the card.  The VersaColor and Versafine inks, are the best.  The color is very vibrant and the stamped image is super clear!

I mentioned this was a remake of a older card I made.  Click here to see the old version!

Less is More - French

Ouch...a bit of a painful week, but the fractured shoulder and more importantly (since it a lot more painful) the road rash on the elbow is finally getting better.  As of yesterday, I'm trying to use my arm a slowly to make sure it doesn't freeze up!

We have a new challenge over at Less is More!  This week is my favorite...one-layer card, and the theme is French!  How fun is that...especially I just came back from France!

Here is what I came up with...looking forward to see what you come up with!

I have been dying to use this new stamp set.  It is so cute!

I started by stamping my little chef, then stamping the sentiment.

I colored my little chef with Copic markers, then masked him and used my distress ink to ink up the background.

Here's a close up of the card.

Come on over and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!
