Addicted to CAS - Luck/Lucky

It has been a hectic few weeks, but we now have some help in to keep us focused.  It has been cold and stormy out, so just perfect for making cards.

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Luck/Lucky.  Just perfect for the beginning of March.  Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Super quick and easy card.  Since I did just do this at the last moment :)

Anywho, I colored this funny guy with my copic markers.  Added a speech bubbled and used my newest alphabet stamp set to add the sentiment.  I like this alphabet stamp set because it is whimscal and I don't have to be too picky about have the letters perfectly straight!

Looking forward to seeing your creation!

Less is More - OLC Stars

We have a new challenge starting today at Less is More.  Our theme for our One Layer Challenge is Stars!  Lots of terrific opportunities here...I made a few cards, but didn't find them to be simple enough, so I came back to this one.

As you can see, this card is pretty simple to recreate.  I just stamped the sentiment at the bottom.  It is a stamp from Alley Way Stamp company that is no longer in existence.  I then stamped and colored a few stars.  It still looked a bit empty so I added a few dots with my Copic markers.

Here's a close up of the card.  Pretty quick and easy.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Friday - Exotic

It has been a beautiful week.  Not too hot, but I hear the heat wave is coming in.  I'm hoping the husband will be feeling a bit better in a little while so we can go play some tennis!  I have missed his hard hitting :)

I have a Giveaway going on.  If you are interested, check it out here!

We have another challenge starting today at CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this week is Exotic!  I wanted to do something a little different, so I looked up this word and found that is means foreign, and colorful.  And came up with this card...

I stamped and masked a few of these monsters and colored them with Copics.  I love color, so this was a super fun card to make.  The images are easy to color, so it didn't take much time at all.

Here's a close up of the card. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Dreams (OLC)

It is time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week we have another one-layer challenge. One of my favorites.  Our theme is Dreams!  Quite fun!

I had plans to make two cards, with very different ideas, but in the end only had time for one.

Here is my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I stamped my main image, then colored him with Copic Markers.  I made my scientist a bit radioactive, by adding a bit of bright green around him.

I then stamped my flowers and drew in the stems.

I drew the circles for my though bubble and stamped the little heart.

There you have it, my mad scientist dreaming of love :)

Here is a close up of my card.

I have used this mad scientist in several cards holding a few different items. I'm trying to use stamp sets for at least three different occasions.

Check out the other one here, and here.

Less is More - Exotic

Each day is getting a bit better.  It is now much easier to type and I can type with two hands again! More time in the gym which has been good, I'm hoping next week my hubby will take me out to the courts for some mild hitting practice :)  Please!!!!!

Time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week the challenge theme is Exotic! Wow...wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go with this one...but here's what I came up with.

I went through my stamp set and settled on this fun little bird.  I haven't used this one and was anxious to try it out!

I stamped the bird, masked him off, stamped the tree, then masked them both off.  I then created the background sky...love these clouds!

I then colored my images with Copic Markers and stamped the sentiment.

All in all, a pretty quick card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Hope you come on over a join us. We are looking forward to what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Thank You

It's been a hot day today, with lots going on.  I had a bit of yard work to do, so that kept me busy this morning, then I nearly forgot that we have a new challenge starting over on CAS on Sunday!

For this challenge, our theme is "Thank You" cards.  Come on over and join the challenge, I'm sure there is someone that would appreciate a handmade thank you card from you!

Our next door neighbor, a young middle school boy, traveled to Japan this summer by himself!  He came back and brought us some cookies!  This card is for him!

For this card, I wanted to use some old stamps, unfortunately these are out of print.  But, I like them, this little guy is so cute!

I started by stamping the images with Versafine ink, then coloring them with my Zig Clean Real Brush Pens.  I then cut the card with the speech bubble and popped it up on foam tape.

Added a few red and green glitter stars, and that was it!  Quick and simple!

Here's a close up of the card, showing a bit more of the dimension created by the foam tape!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Black, White & One Color

Wow, can you believe it---it's already the end of June!

We have another challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Black, White and One Color!  Lots of great choices for this challenge...can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge....

Okay, there is nothing cuter than a little monster!  This guys is particularly cute because he is a bit round :)  I've had this stamp set for awhile, but haven't used this little guy!

I simply started by stamping and coloring him with copics.  I then stamped my splatters on the background, and added the sentiment.

I added a few black sequins and popped up my image on foam tape.

Less is More - Pops or Bangs

It's been a beautiful week.  I feel much better this week, and have been playing tennis with the husband.  We've had some great practice on the brand new courts---so life is good!

There is another challenge starting today over at Less is More.  This one is guaranteed to knock your socks off...the theme is "Something that Pops or Bangs".  You can go so many fun ways with this challenge, we could do this theme for weeks!

Here's my take on the theme, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I simply stamped my mad scientist on white card stock.  I then masked off his hand and stamped the balloon.

I colored the images with copic markers added a bit of wink of stella to the balloon...and done!

Simple card, for my nephew's birthday!

Addicted to CAS - Plaid

We have another fun challenge starting today over at Addicted to CAS!  Hope you have time to come on over and see the inspiration and join in on the challenge!

The code word for the challenge is Plaid!  If you play along you have a chance to win a gift certificate to Create a Smile, which is a wonderful stamp company!  Love them!

This was a bit of a challenge, because I don't have any plaid paper! Also, wasn't sure how I wanted to use the plaid paper that I would have to create.  In the end, here's what I came up with...

I'm still in the mode of making birthday cards, you can never have enough!

I started by making my plaid paper (since I don't have any) by using my diagonal stamp and some orange and blue ink.

I then stamped my magician and colored him with copic markers.  I added the sentiment to the bottom and then added a little string for the magician to hold the balloon.

This will be the perfect birthday card for my nephew!

Here's a close up to give you a bit more detail.
