CAS on Sunday - One Layer Card

Wow, the weekend is flying by...football on the TV again!  My husband is so happy!

We have another challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  One of my favorite themes---One Layer Card.  This always challenges me so I like this challenge.  I'm working on my coloring, and while I'm now quite where I want to be I'm trying things a bit out of my comfort zone.

Here's my take on the challenge, and my attempt to do something a bit different...for me at least!

I have this new image from Bella Stamps...not my typical style, but this fits for my friend Tiffany's birthday!

I simply stamped this image and used my copic markers to color it.  I then added the sentiment to the left and done!

Here's a close up of the card to give you a better view of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

CAS on Sunday - Pastel

Yeah, I have been out on the court this past week!  It feels so good to hit and run around!  I miss the tennis and of course all of my tennis buddies!  I hit this week with a new friend, since my hubby is not feeling well enough yet to hit...she is super nice, but I still miss my husband the most!

We have a new challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is "Pastel".  Hope you have time to come on over and join us for this fun challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge...

Pastel is hard for me as I like bright and bold colors.  I was inspired by some round lights in my studio that are the color of sea foam.

I started by stamping my string of round lights across my watercolor paper.  I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color in the images.  I then stamped the sentiment at the bottom and done....a very quick and easy card.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see I popped up the smaller panel on foam tape.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Balloons

Another day at the gym...more stationary bike.  I have to see about getting my bike fixed soon. Hoping that I can ride again in another few weeks, but the bike needs to be fixed soon.  And they had to cut off my favorite bicycling shirt, so need to find a new favorite!

Time for another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is Balloons!  Super fun lots of fun things to do with this theme.  I focused on using a new die cut set that I haven't had a chance to use yet.  Here's what I came up with!

I started by creating a mask for my balloons.  I then used distress ink to apply color, in rainbow order. Ensuring that I had applied a bit of the darker color on the bottom and used a lighter color on top.

I then die cut my sentiment...it took me awhile to figure out what color to use...yellow, red, green...finally I settled on teal.  I added a bit of distress ink to the sentiment for a bit of dimension.

I thought I was done at this point, but it looked a little empty so I added some mini stars and teal confetti.

Here's a close up....this is a flat card for easy mailing!

Hope to see what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Sketch

Still healing from my bike injury.  Will be out of commission for a few weeks!

We have another challenge starting today at CAS on Sunday.  This is a sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch...and my take on it!  Hope you come on over and join in, we would love to see what you come up with!

I started by stamping and watercoloring my main images with the Zig Clean Color Brushes.   I mostly used one color and used the water to move the color around to get the shadows I was looking for.

I then heat embossed my sentiment and the white background on the white card stock.  I felt this gave the card a bit more dimension.  I used the inlaid die technique for the white background to eliminate some of the bulk, as I added foam tape to the main images to make them pop.

Here is a close up, where you have a better view of the dimension.

CAS on Sunday - Thank You

It's been a hot day today, with lots going on.  I had a bit of yard work to do, so that kept me busy this morning, then I nearly forgot that we have a new challenge starting over on CAS on Sunday!

For this challenge, our theme is "Thank You" cards.  Come on over and join the challenge, I'm sure there is someone that would appreciate a handmade thank you card from you!

Our next door neighbor, a young middle school boy, traveled to Japan this summer by himself!  He came back and brought us some cookies!  This card is for him!

For this card, I wanted to use some old stamps, unfortunately these are out of print.  But, I like them, this little guy is so cute!

I started by stamping the images with Versafine ink, then coloring them with my Zig Clean Real Brush Pens.  I then cut the card with the speech bubble and popped it up on foam tape.

Added a few red and green glitter stars, and that was it!  Quick and simple!

Here's a close up of the card, showing a bit more of the dimension created by the foam tape!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Sequins

Wow...I'm still tired from my match yesterday.  It was a super long one in the heat and I just got too tired in the second set...bummer....oh well, this will get me focused on being in better shape.  My husband was kind enough to get me warmed up for the match!  Thanks husband!

We have another fun challenge starting over at CAS on Sunday!  Hope you can come and join us. Our challenge theme is Sequins...how fun is that!

Here's my take on the challenge....sorry the photo looks a bit blurry, I had a difficult time with the shiny paper!

I started by die cutting my champagne flute and making a shaker card.

I then die cut the sentiment in silver foil paper.

To give the card a little extra sparkle, I added a few tiny stars and sequins around the champagne flute.

My friend Vicki is turning fifty this weekend and this is a perfect card for her!
