CAS on Sunday - Stencil

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!  If I was organized enough, I would have created an Easter Card, but alias...my organization skills need a bit of work!

Anywho, we have another challenge over at CAS on Sunday starting today.  Our theme for this challenge is Stencil.  You must use a stencil on your design.

Here's my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I started by grabbing one of my favorite stencils, then adding a bit of distressed ink...a little two tone yellow.  I then stamped and colored my image.

I cut it out and popped it up on some foam tape.  I thought the card needed a bit of additional color around the stencil, so I stamped some small red dots. I then added the sentiment and done!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the dimension I used in popping up the main image on foam tape!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Leaves or Trees

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. It is just beautiful weather here today, so I'm off to a tennis match later today...wish me luck!

We have a new challenge starting over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Leaves or Trees.  This gave me an opportunity to use a new stamp set that I have recently received.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

This is quick and simple card.  I started by stamping my image on cardstock and coloring it with copics.  I then cut out the image added a bit of colored card stock behind it and popped it up on foam tape.

The sentiment is heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

All in all, very quick and simple!

Here's a close up of the image, you can see the dimension of the foam tape.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Washi Tape

It's been a beautiful week, and I have been enjoying the nice weather on the tennis courts.  Lots of play this week and it has been super fun!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  This week our theme is Washi Tape.  This is a bit challenging for me!  While I have and love washi tape, I don't use it on my cards, I typically just use it on envelopes!

Here's my take on the challenge...looking forward to seeing the creative ways you use it!

I started by stamping my main images and coloring them with copic markers.  I then added the pearls to each flower.

I used distress ink to ink up some paper in an ombre fashion, then cut the word die from the paper.  I then popped it up on some fun foam.

The washi tape is on the left side---the bright green with white dots!

Here's a close up of the card!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Seaside

It has been a lovely week weather wise...looking forward to the spring!  But not sure we are quite there yet!  Anyhoo, this week's theme at Addicted to CAS will get you into the spring mood...our theme is Seaside.

I had a bunch of fun ideas for this challenge, and wanted to use my newest dies, so I ended up with this one...

I started by stamping my images and coloring them with copic markers.  I then sponged my background with distressed inks.  I found that sponging works like magic on Bristol paper, so that is my go to paper for all things sponging! I then stamped some seashells on the Kraft stock with distressed ink.  I stamped them with Antique Linen which is a bit light, next time I'd use a darker shade.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the sea shells on the Kraft card stock just a bit.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...remember there is a great prize for the winner!

Less is More - Sketch

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More---a sketch challenge which is one of my favorites.  Always fun to see what you can do with some design inspiration.

Here's the sketch...this is a great sketch and I will be making a few more cards with this image in mind.  However, to start with, here's what I came up with...

I started my stamping my little bear...he is so cute...and coloring him with copic markers.  As I was coloring my bear I wanted to practice adding a lot of contrast, so I made my light source from the right.  I still need more practice, but like the contrast.

I then die cut my circle sentiment and my wavy lines and adhered them to the card base.  It looked a little empty so I added a few dots that match the sentiment.

Here's a close up of my bear.  I can still use a bit of practice on the shading but I guess is works for this card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
