CAS on Sunday - One Layer Card

Wow, the weekend is flying by...football on the TV again!  My husband is so happy!

We have another challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  One of my favorite themes---One Layer Card.  This always challenges me so I like this challenge.  I'm working on my coloring, and while I'm now quite where I want to be I'm trying things a bit out of my comfort zone.

Here's my take on the challenge, and my attempt to do something a bit different...for me at least!

I have this new image from Bella Stamps...not my typical style, but this fits for my friend Tiffany's birthday!

I simply stamped this image and used my copic markers to color it.  I then added the sentiment to the left and done!

Here's a close up of the card to give you a better view of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Addicted to CAS - Stitched

Time for another challenge over at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this challenge is Stitched.  This was pretty easy for me as I often like to use some sort of stitched dies to add a bit of a professional feel.

Here's what I came up with for this challenge.  Hope you choose to participate as we have an opportunity to win a gift certificate for Create a Smile---one of my favorite stamp brands.  They have so many cute stamp sets.

I started by die cutting the window.  I then stamped and colored the giraffe with copic markers and masked him off.

I then created a mask for the clouds and used distress ink to provide the puffy white clouds.

I then added the sentiment and popped up the front panel on foam tape.

Here's a close up of the card, you can see the dimension created by popping up the front panel on foam tape.

Less is More - Diamond

Time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week our theme is Diamonds!

I had to get creative with this one since, I don't have anything obvious that would fit the bill.  I've been thinking about anniversaries, and looked up when the diamond anniversary was and here is what I came up with.

I started by picking out my super glitter paper that when in the sun shines like diamonds.  And since the diamond anniversary is at 60 years (wow) ... I came up with this.

I die cut the hearts and used the inlaid die technique.  I added a bit of Distressed Ink to the hearts to give a bit of dimension.

Here's a close up of the card.  I think the little sparkles look diamond like...what do you think?

Tag You're It - Challenge #56

Went out for a bit of tennis with my friend today.  It was nice to get out, but miss my husband on the court...everyone is asking about him and we hope he will be back on the courts in the near future!  That is our goal!

We have another challenge starting today over at Tag You're It.  The inspiration tag was created by our guest designer Taheerah Atchia.  This is so pretty, simple and elegant!

Here's my take on the challenge.  We would love to see what you come up with.

For this tag, I started with some light teal paper and die cut the tag.

I then used my very old alphabet stamps (not sure who even made this set), and stamped my sentiment with turquoise pigment ink from Versacolor.

I then added a few silver stars and some teal confetti!

Selfie!

Went to the gym this morning to do a bit of the stationary bicycle...I really need to get my bike fixed. Sixteen miles on the stationary bike is a bit of torture!  I tried to focus on the football game and some music, but still it is long!

Print
I wanted to participate in the My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar...since I love their stamps and have several that are so much fun to play with.  I decided for this entry to focus on the Gnomes!

I started by creating my own polaroid by using a square die cut to create the look of the old time instant photo.

I then stamped my two Gnomes.  I cut a mask from using the coordinating dies, to cover my two guys before inking up the background.  I then colored my main images with copics and stamped the sentiment.

I then used the little snail stamp from the same set and created my own background paper, as it looked just a little too plain on just regular card stock.

I popped up the picture on foam tape and done!

Here's a close up of these two cute little guys!

Less is More - Favorite Flower

Well is has been a week that went from one end of the spectrum to another...fun to heartbreaking. However, I am confident that all will turn out well in the end.

We have a new challenge starting over at Less is More.  This week a One Layer Card and our theme is favorite flower.  This one is a bit tricky for me as I don't do too many florals and just have a few stamps, so I will try to use an old one in a new way.

Here's my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I started with an old Hero Arts Stamp.  That I inked up a portion of with Versafine ink.  This stamp normally has four flowers and I masked off one.

Once stamped, I added clean embossing powder and heat embossed the flowers and the sentiment.

I then used my distress ink to watercolor the images, then added the pearls to the center!

Here's a close up of the card!

Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Pastel

Yeah, I have been out on the court this past week!  It feels so good to hit and run around!  I miss the tennis and of course all of my tennis buddies!  I hit this week with a new friend, since my hubby is not feeling well enough yet to hit...she is super nice, but I still miss my husband the most!

We have a new challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is "Pastel".  Hope you have time to come on over and join us for this fun challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge...

Pastel is hard for me as I like bright and bold colors.  I was inspired by some round lights in my studio that are the color of sea foam.

I started by stamping my string of round lights across my watercolor paper.  I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color in the images.  I then stamped the sentiment at the bottom and done....a very quick and easy card.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see I popped up the smaller panel on foam tape.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
