Addicted to CAS - Coffee

Another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  It's a fun theme for this week, coffee!  At first I thought this would be difficult for me as I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so I don't have many stamps that might fit this theme.  However, after digging through my collection, here's what I came up with!

Hope you can join us!  There is a chance to win a $10 voucher to Stamplorations!

I've been enjoying making a smaller size square card, as it is perfect for a quick note while still able to send in an A4 size envelop.

I stamped and heat embossed my coffee mug and steam on some watercolor paper.  I then used my zig markers to color my mug.

Then a simple stamp and heat embossing of the sentiment, a bit of foam tape and done!

Here is a close up of the card, you can see the dimension I added with foam tape.

Hope you join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

Less is More - Spiders/Insects

Time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week our theme is Spiders/Insects!  Perfect timing since Halloween is around the corner and I have a few spider stamps that would work just perfectly with this theme.

Here is my take on the challenge...hope you join us!

Never thought of making Halloween cards, but this critter is just too cute.
I started by using distress ink to color some embossing paste.  I then stamped, cut and colored my spider.

I heat embossed the sentiment and then adhered everything to this small square cardstock.

I'm really liking the smaller square cards.  They fit into a A4 envelop, but are so cute!

Here's a close up of the card.

You can see the dimension I created by popping up the happy spider and the sentiment banner on foam.

Come on over and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

Tag You're It Challenge #58

Happy Friday!  Another challenge starts today over at Tag You're It.  Our guest designer and inspiration for this challenge is Leigh Penner.  Come on over and see what the team has produced. We would love to see what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I focused on the colors of Leigh's design...white with fall red and oranges.

I die cut all of my images.  I then used some white embossing paste to add these wispy flowers in the background.  I then simply added my dies, popping several on foam tape for some dimension!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Dreams (OLC)

It is time for another challenge over at Less is More.  This week we have another one-layer challenge. One of my favorites.  Our theme is Dreams!  Quite fun!

I had plans to make two cards, with very different ideas, but in the end only had time for one.

Here is my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I stamped my main image, then colored him with Copic Markers.  I made my scientist a bit radioactive, by adding a bit of bright green around him.

I then stamped my flowers and drew in the stems.

I drew the circles for my though bubble and stamped the little heart.

There you have it, my mad scientist dreaming of love :)

Here is a close up of my card.

I have used this mad scientist in several cards holding a few different items. I'm trying to use stamp sets for at least three different occasions.

Check out the other one here, and here.

CAS on Sunday - Embossing

It's time for another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is Embossing! One of my favorite techniques!  Hope you have a chance to join us, would love to see what you come up with!

Here is my take on the challenge...normally, I'm not a Halloween person, but just love the stamp sets for Halloween, making this my favorite time of year for card making!

I started by stamping and coloring my main image.

I then used distress ink to color some embossing paste and used a stencil to add some texture to my background.

I then picked stamped and heat embossed my sentiment and added it to the bottom.  I popped up my main image and the sentiment on foam tape and done!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the texture of the background...super fun!

Hope you join us, we would love to see what you come up with!
