Addicted to CAS - Congratulations

Enjoying the long Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Even with things being a bit hectic at the moment, one can always find somethings to be thankful for!

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  This is a special challenge as it is our 4th year celebration!  There are lots of amazing chances to win some great prices, so hope you swing by to join us!

Here's my card for the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

This is a super easy card to make, using my favorite small size 4 x 4.

I simply stamped my image on card stock, colored it with copic markers and added a bit of wink of stella!.  I then cut my image and matted it on some teal card stock.  I then popped it up on foam tape for some dimension and done!

The nice thing is you can use this same idea for a Christmas card...which I did as well :)

Here's a close up of the card, you can see a bit of the dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Emboss Resist

It is time for another challenge over at Less is More.  For my U.S. friends, take some time from this long weekend and come and join in.  Our theme for this week is Emboss Resist.

This is a bit of a tricky challenge for me, as I'm still not completely happy with my ink sponging. Here's what I came up with, this is actually my second card, as I was not happy with the first one I created, so I went back to my go to simple card layout.

I started my heat embossing my snowflakes at the bottom of this card. I then added the distress ink.
I'm not sure I'm completely happy with this color, but was the best of what I have in my supplies. I heat embossed the sentiment, added a bit of silver foil paper and done! This is an easy card to mass produce...even with the ink sponging!

Here's a close up of the card.  Love these large Christmas sentiments from My Favorite Things!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Pet

Time for another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Pet!  How fun is that?  I had a few options since I have both dogs and bunnies as a possibility here.  I decided to go for the dog.  Since it is my friend Julie's Birthday, and she loves dogs, this theme is just perfect timing.

I started by stamping the main image on a white panel. I simply colored the pup with Copic markers.

I then used my die to add this speech bubble and heat embossed the sentiment.

All in all a clean and simple card!

Here's a close up of the pup...

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Books

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More today.  This weeks challenge is Books!  Such a fun challenge.  I love to read, so this is just perfect.  I made a few cards and had my son and husband pick the one that I should use.  They both decided on this one.

This is an easy one layer card.  I started by stamping and masking my books.  Colored them in with Copics.  I then added the sentiment and the heart.  I die cut part of the card to provide some interest.
For the bottom part.  I sponged on a light yellow distressed ink, then used an fun alphabet stencil and used a darker distressed ink.
The bottom strip adds a little color to a CAS card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!  Hope you can join us for this challenge!

Addicted to CAS - Ombre

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  This week the theme is Ombre.

This one was a bit of a challenge for me. When I think of Ombre, I go to ink sponging which is not my best technique.  But to get better, you have to practice, so I thought I would sponge a rather large section and see how it goes.

Here's what I came up with...looking forward to seeing your design! The winning entry will receive a gift card to Happy Little Stampers!
I started with Salty Ocean Distressed Ink, and lightly sponged my background (after masking it off). Once I had a thin coat of Salty Ocean, I added Chipped Sapphire to the top of the area to give it that Ombre feel. I then stamped, die cut and colored my main image and popped it up on foam tape.I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it in white.  It still looked a little empty so I added a few stars.

Tag You're It Challenge #60

It's time for another challenge over at Tag You're It.  Our talented guest designer is Diane Jaquay. Check out her beautiful inspiration.

I'm sure this beautiful tag will give you a ton of inspiration.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Here's my take on challenge.

I started by sponging a few colors of distressed ink...similar to the inspiration tag.  I then added a bit of dimension to the background with a stencil and white embossing paste.

I then die cut this tree from dark brown paper. I decided to keep in the inner parts of the leaves (though one fell out and I didn't have time to remake this tag).  The back of the paper is white, so the effect of the die cut looks pretty cool as you see a bit of the white peek through. I only glued down the truck of the tree so the leaves are a loose and it provides a nice dimension.

Hope you have a chance to play along, we would love to see what you come up with!
