Less is More - Leaves

What a beautiful day we have here today.  Spring time weather!  Yeah!

We also have another challenge starting over at Less is More!  The theme for this week is Leaves and it is a one-layer challenge.

Here's my take on the theme...

I started by stamping and heat embossing the leaves.  I then used distress inks to watercolor my image.

I added the sentiment at the end and done!  Pretty easy...and quick!

Here is a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Umbrella

It's been quite busy on this end...but managed to slip in some tennis.  Today I'll be heading over to the gym to get in a bit of exercise.  But before I go, we do have another challenge starting over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Umbrella.  Lucky for me, I just purchased a new stamp set which has a few umbrellas!

Here's my take on the challenge....

I simply stamped the main image and colored this cute little dog with copics.  I then stamped the sentiment.

I wanted to add a bit of color so I decided to use this cloud die and pull the colors I used from the Umbrella.  I used distress ink to color some paper and then die cut the clouds.

All in all, pretty simple!

Here's a close up of the card.  This little guy is so cute!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Doodle

It has been a tricky week, but hopefully things are looking up!

We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this week is a fun one....Doodle!  So many fun options...unfortunately, I was in a bit of a time crunch this week, so I couldn't get as creative as I was hoping for...but, in any event, here is my take on the challenge...

I started by stamping my doodle flowers (a very old inexpensive stamp set) on watercolor paper.  I used my Zig Real Brush markers to watercolor the images, then added a bit of Wink of Stella to give a slight shimmer.

I framed my flowers on the purple paper and added foam tape to the back.  Then stamped the sentiment and done!

Here's a close up of the image. A true Clean and Simple Card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Teal

It has been a busy week.  Nice weather has made it ideal for outdoor activities!  Fun tennis and a bit of cycling!

We have another fun challenge starting today at Less is More.  This is a color challenge and our theme for the challenge is Teal.  Your entire card doesn't need to be teal, but mainly teal.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Here's my take on the challenge...

I created this card for my niece who is celebrating a milestone.

I started by stamping the sweet sentiment.  I added the cupcake above it and colored it with copic markers.

I then used the inlaid die technique for the 16.

Pretty and easy!

Here's a closeup of the card.  You can see that i added a few stars around the cupcake to make it festive!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Sketch

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More---a sketch challenge which is one of my favorites.  Always fun to see what you can do with some design inspiration.

Here's the sketch...this is a great sketch and I will be making a few more cards with this image in mind.  However, to start with, here's what I came up with...

I started my stamping my little bear...he is so cute...and coloring him with copic markers.  As I was coloring my bear I wanted to practice adding a lot of contrast, so I made my light source from the right.  I still need more practice, but like the contrast.

I then die cut my circle sentiment and my wavy lines and adhered them to the card base.  It looked a little empty so I added a few dots that match the sentiment.

Here's a close up of my bear.  I can still use a bit of practice on the shading but I guess is works for this card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
