Less is More - Stripes and Spots OLC

We have a new challenge starting over at Less is More!  Yeah, this challenge is one of my favorite...a One Layer Card!

Don't you hate it when you don't take just a few minutes to read the instructions!  I do...yet, I find myself doing in frequently :)  Anywho...as you can see our challenge for this week is Stripes and Spots, one-layer card.  I read it as stripes or spots, so I finished my first card and then realized I only had spots no stripes....so then I made another with both spots and stripes, but forgot it was a one-layer card.  Augh!  Here's my third try....

This was a easy card to make.  I started by die cutting various size circles to use for a mask.  I then simple inked them up with distress ink on my favorite blending paper.  Once my circle was down, I used a more heavy hand to add the stripes via stencil.  Once all of my spots and stripes were down, I added my sentiment.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the stripes a bit better here!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Pink

We just got back from Hawaii and wow, it was a wonderful trip.  So nice to spend some fun, quality time with the husband!  Sand, water, tennis and relaxation...what more can you ask for?

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this week is Pink. Typically, not an easy color for me as I don't use it much, but have been trying to use it more...considering I do have lots of copic pink colors!

Here's my take on the challenge...

This was an easy card.  I simply stamped the main image...colored this sassy little gal with copic markers.  Added the sentiment and finished it off with a few silver stars.  Pretty CAS!

Here's a close up of the image.  You can see the stars a bit better on this angle and a bit of a closer look at the coloring.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Yellow and Grey

It has been a busy week, but beautiful spring weather, so I have been able to enjoy all my favorite outdoor activities!

We have a new challenge starting over at Less is More.  Our theme for this week is Yellow and Grey. This is just a beautiful combination!  I really do like to see grey with so many different colors.  It really gives the project a sense of elegance!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I started by simply stamping my flowers and leaves on cardstock.  I then colored them with my copic markers in various shades of grey, no shading just simply coloring.  I then cut down my panel and framed it with the soft yellow cardstock.  I have been liking the inlaid die technique lately and choose to use it for this project as well.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see that this is a one-layer card with inlaid die!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Free Copic Coloring Class

What a beautiful day today.  Tennis was cancelled today, so I took a little bike ride to the gym for a quick workout. I then had time for an on-line coloring class.  If you are interested in fine toning your copic skills this is the class for you.  Check out My Creative Scoop! Mindy Baxter has some amazing coloring classes and I took advantage of this free one!

Here's what we worked on...

This class is super helpful and fun. I printed out the image and colored along during the class. First with the colors that Mindy used, then tried with my own color combination.

Mindy also shows you how to make an amazing background.  I didn't have time for the full background so, I just highlighted my background with a soft blue.

CAS on Sunday - Glitter or Sequins

We are enjoying the lovely weather this weekend.  A bit of tennis, a bit of hiking, and a bit of yard work!  All fun!

We have another challenge starting over at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is Glitter or Sequins.  I choose to focus on glitter...here's what I came up with.

This is a small 4 x 4 card.  A simple design!

One small die cut and some glitter paper to add a bit of sparkle.

I added a bit of foam tape to pop up the main image.  The sentiment is heat embossed!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the dimension created by the foam tape.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Shadow

I'm just loving this time of the year...lots of rain this winter so our draught is over and the backyard garden is just amazing.  The husband has been slowly making his way back to the tennis court and I'm soooooo happy!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More. Our theme for this week is Shadow.  I struggled over this one...it was hard for me to come up with something a bit different. I finally took some inspiration from my garden and here is what I came up with.

I didn't want to use a bright white cardstock, so I picked a Caramel colored cardstock from Bazzill.

I used distress ink to make my background.  Then simple die cut the opening in my card base and then added the die cut flowers.  Stamped the sentiment and done!  I think this will be my Mother's Day card!

Here's a closer look at the card. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
