Less is More - Dry Embossing

We have a new challenge starting over at Less is More today.  Our theme for today is dry embossing.  The challenge is to do this in a bit more of a CAS manner...this can be tricky, but I know you can do it!  Though, don't do what I did...I actually made my card CAS, but used embossing paste...which is wet, even through it does dry :)  So just look at my design and image the hearts in the background as a embossed folder!!

I started my making a template with my heart die on some card stock.  I then simply used some embossing paste that dry's quickly.  I then added a bit of Distress Ink to some card stock and cut my sentiment.  I added a bit of dimension using some foam tape.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Cats

Another beautiful week...the sun is shining and the air is a bit cooler.  Perfect for the tennis court.  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

We have another challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this week is Cat. This is a bit more tricky for me as I'm more of a dog person...but here is my take on the challenge!

I used the inlaid die technique for this card.  I first cut the squares then stamped them with the image.  I elected to color the backgrounds and leave the cats white.  This is the same technique I used a few weeks ago with a dog stamp I have.  I like this coloring technique as it is more like a comic strip!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Friday - Die

Another beautiful week, it seems like spring here.  I'm not quite ready for this warm weather and hoping for a bit more winter before it is over.  Anyways, it does give us plenty of time to hit the beach and courts!

We have another challenge starting today over at CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this challenge is Die. Simply use a die cut image on your card.

Here's my take on the challenge...

I simply stamped my flower images on card stock.  I added a few other images around in a light grey color.

I then stamped my sentiment and used the inlaid die technique for the birthday sentiment.  I like using inlaid die as it is easy for mailing and it feels like I'm putting together a puzzle.

Here's a bit of a close up, where you can see the inlaid die a bit better.

Looking foward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Teal

Another beautiful day expected today.  Puppy training in the am and some tennis in the pm...then time with the husband--doesn't get better than that!

We have another challenge starting today at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Teal---one of my favorite colors!

Here's my card for the challenge...

This is a pretty quick and easy card.  I simply stamped the image --- I just love this stamp set.

I used the inlaid die technique to add the birthday sentiment...makes this an easy card to mail.

All in all a pretty quick and easy card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Music

Another beautiful week...certainly doesn't seem like winter.  It is so pretty out...time for lots of tennis!

We also have another challenge starting over at Less is More!  Our theme for this week is Music.  Such a fun challenge theme.  Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I stamped my little bunnies on this film strip and colored them with my Copic Markers.  I then adhered everything to this card base and added the sentiment.  Pretty quick card!

CAS on Friday - Color Me Pretty

We got one day on the courts between storms.  Better than nothing.  Next week is expected to be much better...but still hoping for dry courts tomorrow to play with the husband!

We have another challenge starting today at CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this week is to use markers or pencils.  Here's my take on the theme...

I tried something a bit different.  I colored the background and left the main image white.  This dog actually looks like my puppy Baxter.  He is all white with dark eyes and nose!  He is sooooo cute!

The little squares are cut using a die then coloring the background with Copic markers.

I used the inlaid die technique to make this card easy to mail.  I've been liking the flat cards lately.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...

I don't know about you, but I think this bunny is just the cutest thing in the world.

I colored him with copics...added a bit of Wink of Stella on the stripes of his shirt and the hearts floating above him.

Stamped the sentiment and done.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Ombre

It has been a bit of a hectic week, and next week is worse, so I'm happy to be able to finish an inspiration card before everything comes to a boiling point.  We have a new challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  As you can see, our code word is Ombre.  Super fun!

Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...

I choose to do something a bit different.  I focused my ombre highlights to the sentiment.  Which I added here with the inlaid die technique, to make this card easy to mail.

I stamped and colored my giraffes.  So sweet!

Here's a bit of a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

We have a new challenge starting over at Less is More.  This is our first challenge of the new year and we have some changes to the challenge for 2018! We are moving to a two week challenge...this gives everyone just a bit more time to develop their beautiful creations!

Our challenge for this week is a color challenge.  And purple is the color on tap.  Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I choose to go with a simple inlaid die design for this challenge.  Just a bit of simple stamping with my newest stamp set from My Favorite Things using two different color purples.  I then die cut the sentiment and used copic markers to color it.

Here's a bit of a close up of the design.  You can see that there is no dimension---so makes for easy mailing.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Music

Happy 2018, my friends!  Here's to wishing a happy and healthy new year to all!

I have a giveaway going on...if you are interested check it out here.

We have our first challenge of the New Year starting over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Music.  I wanted to do something a little different this time, so here's my take on the challenge.

I used this cute little stamp set and thought I was going to color these birds with a bunch of different colors.  I started with yellow, then moved to green, then pink and decided to stop there and keep it a three color card.

Love this cute little birds...I can image them making lots of music together!

Here's a close up view of the card.

Less is More - Sketch

Christmas is nearly here...yeah....while super chilly outside, it is so sunny that it is not quite feeling like Christmas!  Guess we better take advantage of the good weather...it may not last!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  This is a two week challenge, and our theme is a sketch.  Here's the sketch...and my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I like making inlaid die cards because it is so much easier to mail.  So I did that with this card.  It was a bit tricky with all of the balloons, but worth the effort!

I used distress ink to color my balloons.  Stamped the sentiment and felt that it needed a bit more, so I added a few stars!

I drew the balloon strings and all done!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Super quick and easy card.  I cut some card stock with this fun die from Lawn Fawn.  Then stamped my image and sentiment.  I added a bit of snowflakes to the simple grey background and done.

Here's a close up of the image.  I colored it with copic markers.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Friday - Christmas

Another beautiful day...not feeling a lot like the winter, but hopefully winter will arrive soon...we don't want another drought!  Hubby and I are off to play tennis then to enjoy a little lunch!  Yum!

We have another challenge starting at CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this challenges continues with Christmas, so if you still have a few cards to make enter them here!

I love this card, because it is super easy to make and lends itself to mass production, which is perfect for Christmas.  Simple stamping a some quick copic coloring.

Here's a close up of the card...a simple one layer quick card.

Addicted to CAS - Sparkle

We are excited about getting the tree up and decorated.  A bit afraid of how the puppy with react, but we'll see....should be fun!

We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Sparkle.  Lots of different ideas for this one, but I opted to go for a non-Christmas card.  Here's my take on the challenge...

I stamped the main image and colored this little sassy character with Copic markers.  I then added the sentiment and a few of the little sparkle things.  I then cut this border and colored it with the matching copic markers.  Pretty simple!

Here's a close up of the image.  You can see I used the inlaid die technique for the blue border.  It makes it much easier for mailing.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - OLC Candles, Lights

What a beautiful week...it is rather cold in the mornings, but warms up nicely by the afternoon.  We are off today to pick out and trim our Christmas tree!  Yeah!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More!  It is time for a one layer card, my favorite, and the theme is Candles or Lights.  Perfect theme for this time of the year.  Head on over to see some more ideas.  Here is my take on the challenge.

As you can see...this is a quick and simple card.  Easy for mass production if you are so inclined.  Simple stamping and very quick copic coloring.  A bit of Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

Here's a close up of the card...can't really see the sparkle in the photo...but it's there.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Green and Red

Another beautiful but cool weekend ahead.  Great weather for some tennis...and I have a match scheduled for this morning....yeah!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  This week our challenge is a color challenge and what better colors than Red and Green.  Fits in just perfectly for the season...and I took advantage of that and created this quick and simple little Christmas card.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

You can see this is a super CAS card.  I simply stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers.  I then added a touch of Wink of Stella.  Mounted it on some green card stock and popped the image up with foam tape.

Super simple for mass production...and a cute 4x4 size!

Here's a close up of the image.  You can see the bit of dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
