Tag You're It Challenge #32 Reminder

Busy day today, so I have to get this post up early.  I have two morning tennis practices--one doubles with the ladies and a singles practice with the husband.  I'm looking forward to a bit of warm up before my always tough practice with the husband!  He keeps me on my toes!

I created another tag for the current Tag You're It Challenge #32.  I enjoyed the inspiration tag from Kelly, that I just had to make another.  This one is similar to my last tag, but I used the polar bear stamps instead.  Still a nice winter tag!

Thanks Kelly for the inspiration!!  Hope you all join in so we can see what you come up with.

I used the same technique as the last tag...started by shading the tag with distressed inks.  Then added a few snowflakes which I heat embossed!

I then cut out the polar bear and sign and colored them in with copic markers. A final touch of adding a bit of enamel accents to the eyes to make them pop and a little form tap to give the polar bear a bit of dimension.

Merry October

I think I'm fully recovered from my jet lag...but, I've decided not to do my normal Sunday ride today, since I'll be meeting my friend Maria tomorrow for lunch and will ride there!  I always like riding to lunch as it makes me feel happy to meet up with friends and to get my exercise in!

Today will be hanging with the hubby and keeping him company while he watches his football! Hanging with the hubby is better than any bike ride :)

I'm slowly moving towards my Christmas cards...I certainly need to move it along faster, but here's another card that I put together.  For this card, I focused on Paper Smooches Fresh Snow Stamps---I recently received it, but haven't used it and wanted to use the snowflakes as my focal point.

I stamped the snowflakes on vellum and heat embossed them with silver embossing powder. I added a bit of silver paper to the edges of my diagonal cut.  I then cut the sentiment from the same silver paper and added the red patterned paper (though a bit difficult to see the pattern in the photo).

I like the simple elegance of the card!

  • Bazzill Card Stock:  Marshmallow
  • Silver Card Stock
  • Lawn Fawn Patterned Paper: Snow Days
  • Vellum
  • Versamark Ink

Tag You're It Challenge #32

Well, I'm still struggling a bit with the jet lag...just can't seem to get up in the morning.  Also, I was very sluggish in my tennis match yesterday---but, hopefully next week the jet lag will be a distant memory!

Today my friend Hatsumi and I did a bit of hiking in the open space today!  Nice day, clear sky's which resulted in some beautiful views of the valley.

It is time for another challenge at Tag You're It.  This inspiration is from Kelly Szafron.  I love the Christmas inspiration and it is never too early to start planning for the holidays!  Christmas tags are so fun to make and this is the perfect inspiration for the first Christmas tag for this year!!

In creating my tag, I decided to focus on the Santa from the inspiration tag. Here's what I came up with.  I hope you decide to join the challenge, we would love to see what you come up with.

I started by using distressed ink for the background.  I then used my copics to color Santa and the presents.  Once cut and colored, I simply adhered the images to the tag and stamped the sentiment.

As a final touch I added a bit of xxx for the snowflakes!

Supplies:
  • Bazzill Card Stock:  Marshmallow

  • My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies:  Jingle All The Way

Tag You're It - Challenge #31 Reminder

If you haven't already created a tag for the most current Challenge at Tag You're It, you'll need to do so, it really is fun!

For this challenge, Jeanna Jachna created this lovely fall tag.  It really is a nice inspiration for this time of the year.  I do love these colors---burnt orange, gold and teal.  A great combination!

Here's what I came up with...can't wait to see your entries...

This was a nice simple tag.  I stuck with the colors that Jeanna used for her tag.  I worked in the teal with my sentiment on the bottom.  I used a bit of Distressed Ink on it to give it a bit more dimension.

Supplies:
  • Bazzill Card Stock:  Candy Corn
  • Simon Says Stamps Card Stock: Aubrey Blue
  • Gold Foil Paper
  • Distressed Ink:  Peacock Blue

YNS Challenge #23 - Spooktacular

Busy morning so far, but before the real busy time starts I wanted to get this post up.  There is another challenge going on at Your Next Stamp, Challenge #23, and I wanted to enter another card. This is a fun way for me to use one of my favorite stamp sets---Silly Monsters.  I just love these guys---they never fail to make me smile.

YNSSketch23

I decided to participate in the sketch challenge.  Here is the inspiration and below is my take on it. I had fun making this one, let me know what you think.

I started by stamping and heat embossing the image. I then colored it with copic markers.  I stamped several sentiments on the white card stock. I've been wanting to do this technique and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!  I then clear embossed the candies on the green card stock and put everything together. Lastly I popped up the monster on foam!

All in all a fun card to make!

CASE Challenge #41

Another fun day on the tennis court.  There were tons of peeps at the club, but not our usual crowd! My husband and I were hitting very well today.  He was cracking the ball so hard, the he broke his strings and we just picked up the racket from the stringer before our match---only 2 hours of use!

Anywho...I've saw the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #41 and wanted to play along.  I need a few birthday cards coming up so I thought I would make one.

I've been wanting to play with some more subtle tones, since my last few cards have been a bit on the bright side.

Here's what I came up with...

I started off my stamping the background of the card with the latest Simon Says Stamps background ABC stamp with plain Versamark ink. I wanted just a little bit something on the card, but not too much.  I then cut out and stamped the center piece with the same background stamps.

I die cut the sentiment from some card stock added a bit of distressed ink to give a bit of dimension.  I used the floral die on glitter paper.  Once everything was cut out, I just glued everything down.

Pretty simple and straight forward!

Supplies:
  • Bazzill Card Stock:  Lime Crush, Rock Candy, Taffy
  • POW Glitter paper
  • Simon Says Dies:  Floral, Happy Birthday
  • Simon Says Stamps:  ABC Background
  • Distressed Ink - Shabby Shutters
  • Versamark Ink
  • Avery Elle Pigment Ink:  Mint to Be

Tag You're It Challenge #30 - Reminder

Another nice day on the tennis courts.  My favorite thing to do, play with my husband.  Nothing better than that!  After cracking it on the court with him, off to a little lunch then continue packing for the trip!

Before all that, let me get this reminder post out.  If you haven't yet participate in this Challenge, there is still time.  A fun inspiration awaits from Nancy Penir.

I took another stab at the cupcake tag...I really love this inspiration, but I still have a bit of a difficult time creating a fun tag.  Somewhat similar to my first one...

For this tag, I used my new Mama Elephant Sentiment stamps as well as my Simon Says Smile die cut.

I colored the cupcake with copic markers and added a little distressed ink to the taffy card stock to give a bit of color around the edges.

If you haven't linked up your tag yet, come join us!  You have a chance to win some great tag die cuts from Poppystamps!  We would love to see what you come up with!
