CASology Challenge - Valentine

Happy Friday!  My husband and I have a fun day planned.  We are heading out to play some tennis, then off to lunch. After lunch, we are going to look at some new furniture---we are looking for a love seat for our back room.  Then, I have a hike scheduled with some friends late in the afternoon!

Before I head out for the day, I have a quick post.  I made this card a few days ago, but just now have a second to post it.  Just in time for Valentine's Day!

I love using bright colors so this image is just perfect for my card!

I simply stamped the sentiment and colored it with copic markers. I then cut the card stock with some layered rectangles, to give this CAS card some added interest.

Turns out to be a very simple one layer card!

I'm entering this card in the most current CASology Challenge #184.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!

CAS on Sunday - Valentine

For those of you in the United States hope you are enjoying your Super Bowl Sunday.  Maybe this gives you a bit of extra time in the craft room :)  If so, come on and join us at CAS on Sunday #76. Our theme for this challenge is Valentine!

Here's what I came up with...

This is the perfect card for my husband...he generally likes the cute little monsters and while this is just two colors, he likes a splash of color!

This is a simple card...I started by using the Circle Burst Die to cut the card front.  I then stamped and colored my monster. I added the sentiment, then used foam tape to pop up the main panel and adhered it to some red card stock.

I like how it turned out...and on top of that it was pretty quick to make!

Hope to see what you come up with!

ATCAS Challenge #81 - Bloom

I'm getting ready to head off to another tennis match.  The season has started and the rain has stopped for the moment so today's match should be a go...wish me luck!

We also have a challenge over at Addicted to CAS. Come over and join in!  Our host for this challenge is Bhavana and we have a wonderful sponsor Eureka Stamps!  Come on over and see what the team has come up with and play along!

Here's what I came up with...

I decided to make a card with all dies and no stamping!

I started off my die cutting the leaves with a light green card stock.  I then used distressed ink to provide some shading.  I then decided to cut the same leaves with vellum to provide a bit of depth.  I then die cut the flowers in a variety of pink/red colors. I added a bit of distressed ink to the flowers as well.

I die cut the sentiment and adhered that to the bottom of the card...then added a few sequins to the middle of each flower.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Tag You're It Challenge #39 - Bee Mine

Good morning, a busy week on this end.  My husband's birthday was last week, but we have been celebrating all month long.  Today, we have a few errands to run, and after that a bit of relaxation! Yeah, I'm pooped!

We have another challenging going on over at Tag You're It Challenge #39.  Come on over and join us.  Here's the tag I created for the challenge:

I've been wanting to try this method of making clouds. Thought this would be the perfect time!

I first stamped my bee and created a mask.  I then created a mask for my clouds and use a bit of distressed ink to add dimension.  I was a bit nervous, but I really like how it turned out!

I then colored the bee and stamped the heart trail and the sentiment.

Easy!

Here is the inspiration tag from Jen!  She inspired me to do a Valentine themed card. Since I have a bit of trouble using pink in my projects, I thought I would use her red heart as inspiration.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, come on over and join us as we would love to see what you come up with!

Supplies Used:
  • Neenah Solar White Paper
  • Stamps:  Paper Smooches, Lawn Fawn

Adore - CAS

Wow, it is quite windy and cold out, but was able to go for a hike with my friend Hatsumi!  Then returning home a nice little lunch with the husband and enjoying the tennis match on TV!  All is good today!

I was able to make this card in between my lounging around today!

This is a simple one-layer card.  I started by stamping and coloring the main image with my copic markers.  I love bright colors, so I wanted to give her eye shadow some color!!

I grounded the image on some circles that I touched with some color as well.  Then stamped the sentiment.

I thought I was done, but wanted to add a bit more interest to the card.  So I added a few hearts and dots around the main image.  Then as a final touch a bit of Wink of Stella to the dress!

I decided to enter this challenge in the CASology Challenge - Adore.

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Stamps:  The Alley Way Stamps
  • Copic Markers
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Wink of Stella

Tag You're It Challenge #37

What a great week of tennis with the husband.  We had a few practice sessions this week and it has been great!  Lot's of nice hitting---though, he keeps me running the entire court :)  We are headed out to the courts again this am...before the rain!

Anyhoo...there is a challenge going on at Tag You're It Challenge #39, if you haven't yet played along you still have time!  Here's the tag I created for the challenge:

I started by die cutting the tag on white card stock and a bit of green card stock.  I then created a little hill from the green card stock and highlighted it a bit with distressed ink.

I stamped the trees in the background and colored them with copic markers. I masked them off to add a bit of blue for my sky using distressed ink.

I then colored and cut out the trailer.  Added a bit of foam tape and stamped my sentiment.  As a final touch I die cut a few white clouds and that is it.

The inspiration for this tag is Erin's.  See what a cute tag she created!

Remember, there is still time to participate, so come join us over at Tag You're It!

CAS on Sunday - Paper Piercing

I'm still enjoying my mini-vacation that my husband surprised me with.  But before I left, I had to make a card for my friend Stefani's baby shower.  This is her first baby and she (and her mom) are thrilled to welcome their first baby into the family.

This card was inspired by the CAS on Sunday #75 - Paper Piecing.

I normally don't do a lot of paper piecing, but this challenge inspiration is a great way to dive right in!

I used this cute little chick stamp and framed it with my circle die.  I wanted to add a bit of interest to the card, so I added the background and the stitching around the circle.  I also added a bit of blue around my image to make it pop even more.  Then just added the sentiment to the bottom.

Come and join us at CAS on Sunday, we would love to see what you come up with!
