CASology - Weather

A busy day today...had a dress emergency for next weekends wedding.  A little miscommunication resulted in unexpected evening gown shopping (thanks husband :)).  I was lucky and found the perfect dress in the perfect color!  Now it is getting hemmed by the best tailor ever!  Then some tennis with my favorite high schooler...and some house cleaning in preparation for Easter!

I'm entering my latest card in the CASology Challenge.

I made this card for my friend who has a first year college student living away from home and this card reminds her of her son!

I started off my inking up the sunray template with distressed ink.  I then stamped and cut the sun and the clouds.  I added a bit of distressed ink to a few of the clouds and added vellum in other clouds.  I then stamped the sentiment and .... done!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Bazzill Grey Cardstock
  • Vellum
  • My Favorite Things Sun Burst Template
  • Simon Says Stamps:  Sunshine, Cloud Die
  • Avery Elle Pigment Ink:  Mimosa, Fog
  • Distressed Ink

Less is More - Polka Dot

There is another fun challenge going on over at Less is More.  This week the theme is Polka Dots. How fun is that!  Hope you come over and join us, we would love to see what you come up with. Here is my take for the challenge, come on over and see what the rest of the team put together!

I'm still need to make several birthday cards, I'm a bit late in getting them out.

For this card, I used one of my most favorite present dies.  This is from Simon Says Stamps Present Parade.  I just die cut the one present in the center.

After adhering the gift I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.

I then framed my image and attached it to cardstock with a bit of foam tape, to give a little dimension.

I will be using this similar design but with Christmas paper for the holidays!

Simple and elegant!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Bazzill Cardstock
  • Silver Foil Paper
  • Versafine Ink
  • Simon Says Stamp:  Present Parade
  • Your Next Stamp (for the sentiment)
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle
  • Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder

CAS on Sunday - Stencil It

I have a tennis match later today, so hope the weather holds.  My husband practiced with me this week, so I'm ready!

Another new challenge is starting today at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this week is "Stencil It". I love my stencils and have been dying to try out this new stamp set that I received from Avery Elle.  I know it is not even close to Christmas, but I have been wanting this stamp set for awhile and I finally pulled the trigger.  Thus, this is the first Christmas card of 2016---a bit early, but better than too late!

I started by using distress ink on my stencil to create the brick background.
I then used my die cut to cut the black rope for hanging the stockings.  I then stamped, colored and cut out the stockings.  I popped them up on foam tape and then stamped the sentiment on the bottom.

Actually a fairly simple card!  Hope you come over a join the challenge.  We would love to see what you come up with.

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • My Favorite Things Brick Stencil
  • Simon Says Stamps:  Banner Die Cut
  • Avery Elle:  Stocking Stamp
  • Distressed Ink
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Addicted to CAS - Delicate

What a great tennis day...won my match...yeah!  All do to the great practice from the husband. Thanks husband...wish me luck for my next match on Sunday!!

Time for another challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  The theme for this week is Delicate.  So many great options here, it was a bit hard to narrow it down.  But in the end, I opted to use a die that hasn't seen much use, but is perfect for this challenge.

I started by die cutting the flower image then coloring it with my copic markers.  I then cut the background squares and did a quick little inlaid technique.  I then adhered the die to the background, popped up the squares on foam tape and added the sentiment.

I really like this delicate die and like how the card turned out.

Come on over and join the challenge.  We would love to see what you come up with!

Supplies:
  • Bazzill Cardstock:  Spearmint
  • Off white cardstock
  • Sentiment:  Mama Elephant
  • Stitched Square Dies:  Lawn Fawn
  • Flower Die:  Simon Says Stamps
  • Copic Markers
  • Avery Elle Pigment Ink:  Fog

Less is More - Outside Window

It has been a beautiful week after the rain!  Was able to get in a bunch of tennis this week, so all is good!

Time for another challenge over at Less is More #268.  This week the theme is What is Outside Your Window. So many possibilities with this challenge.  Here's my take on the challenge, swing on by and see what the others have come up with!

My favorite view from window is our beautiful Cranapple tree.  It is simply stunning.  I just love looking at the blossoms with the sky in the background.

For this card, I sponged the background with distress ink to create the clouds.  I then simply stamped my trees with Vintage Sepia Ink and lightly colored the leaves with my Zig Clean Color Brushes.  I used foam tape to pop this small panel onto the card base.

Stamped my sentiment with Vintage Sepia and done!

Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less Is More - Sentiment Focus

It's been a bit of a soggy week, but was able to hit the tennis courts in between rain storms.  The good news is that we really need the rain and it has been fun to listen to the sounds of rain hitting the roof---it's been so long!

Another fun challenge going on at Less Is More.  This week's theme is One Layer Card with the focus on the sentiment.

I love one layer cards, because I always find them challenging!  At the moment, I'm focusing on birthday cards, as I have so many to complete this month!  Here's my take on the theme...come on over and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

This is a simple card, where I stamped the sentiment first in Vintage Brown Ink and heat embossed it.  I added the small cupcake and hearts!

Pretty simple!

I made this card a few days ago and thought I would enter it into the most current CASology Challenge - Laugh!  Here's my take on the challenge...

Looking at these Silly Monsters always makes me laugh, so I thought it would be perfect for this challenge!

Less Is More - Citrus

It has been a wet few days, and the weekend is expected to be stormy as well.  So time to hit the gym, which is not my favorite thing, so I think I will reward myself by making a few more cards this weekend!

We just kicked off another challenge over at Less is More, as this is my first week on the design team!  Yeah!  This week's theme is Citrus (color not necessarily fruit images).  This is a perfect challenge for the first peek of spring that we have been experiencing here--at least before the rain arrived!

Here is my take on the theme.  Come on by and see what others have done!  We hope you choose to play along...

I started my stamping the balloons, and using a mask for the second and third ballon.   I then added the sentiment on the bottom.

I colored the balloon's with copic markers and added a bit of Wink of Stella for some shine.  I added a few stars and dots around the balloons.

To finish off the card, I added a few scraps of paper on some plain white card stock and popped up the main image on foam tape.

Pretty simple!

Supplies:
  • Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White
  • Stamps:  Alley Way Stamps, Lawn Fawn, Paper Smooches
  • Copic Markers
  • Wink of Stella
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Addicted to CAS - Gift

It's turning out to be a great weekend...hope you have time to join in on the latest Addicted to CAS Challenge.  Just for playing along you have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate for STAMPlorations!

Here's my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I started by die cutting the white cardstock with the "Thanks" Die and Presents.  I then simply stamped the sentiment in red.

I'm been wanting to make a shaker card with this die for quite some time so here's my opportunity.  I added some foam tape to the back and added some sequins.  Then applied the white card stock to my teal panel.

Then as a final touch I added a few hearts around the card.

Pretty simple!

  • Cardstock:  Neenah Solar White, Simon Says Aubrey Blue

  • Stamp:  You're Next Stamp
  • Hearts:  Martha Stewart Press
  • Versafine Red Ink

Tag You're It Challenge - Easter Tag

Today is my rest day...per my husband :0  So instead of hitting tennis balls or riding my bike, I opted for some yard work!  Wow, this is going to be the year of the weeds...so I'm going to embrace some of them :)

Anywho, there is another challenge going on over at Tag You're It.  Lovely inspiration tag from MaryBeth!  Come on over and add your tag to the blog...if you win, you'll be our next guest designer!

Here's my take on the inspiration.

I was inspired by MaryBeth's soft colors and floral tag.

I stamped my flowers and die cut them.  I then cut my leaves from soft green paper and gave them a bit more color from my distress ink.

I then stamped my sentiment and added a few dots and stars as it was looking just a bit too empty for me!

Look forward to seeing what you come up with!  Thanks for stopping by!
