Addicted to CAS - RED

It's been a fun week.  My husband and I are having a mini-vacation and having a great time enjoying the sun and sand!  Thanks husband for organizing such a fun trip.

Today is the start of another challenge with Addicted to CAS! The inspiration is from Doni.  Hope you come and play along as our prize for this challenge is a $15 gift certificate to Happy Little Stampers!

Here's my take on the inspiration, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I started by stamping the image on my cardstock and heat embossing it.  I like to heat emboss my images when using my Copic markers especially when the image has thin lines---as it helps keep the color from running beyond the lines.

Once the image was colored, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed that as well.  I then cut some hearts from red scrap cardstock and adhered them to the card base.  I trimmed down the main panel and added a little foam tape and done!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Your Next Stamp:  Silly Monsters and Sentiments
  • Lawn Fawn Dies:  Hearts and Hills
  • Versamark Onyx Black Ink
  • Hero Arts Embossing Powder

Got Your Back!

It is a wet day today so no outdoor activities...bummer.  However, this does give me time to watch a bit of football and work in the studio!

I just received some new stamps and now I have time to try them out.  While inspired by Tracey's tag for Tag You're It, I didn't have this tag done in time for posting to the challenge.  However, if you haven't yet created a tag, there still is time to enter!

I started with stamping the background image with clear embossing powder, then coloring the circles with watercolor.

I then stamped and colored my images with copic markers.  Stamped the sentiment, heat embossed it and done!

I'm now working on a card with a similar style, but going to use my new Zig WaterColor pens! Yeah!

Keep It Simple

My second post for today.  I have a bit of time since there are not outdoor activities on the schedule for today---resting up for a week of tennis practice coming up, as the forecast is for dry weather!

I had time today for a new card, here's what I came up with...

Super simple one layer card...

In order to add a bit of interest in this simple card, I cut a rectangle on the panel to draw the eye to the image and sentiment.

I think this card took five minutes to make :)

I'm playing along with CASology this week, and the theme for the week!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Cardstock
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Stamps:  Alley Way Stamps
  • Versafine Satin Red Ink

CAS on Sunday #74 - Winter

I'm thrilled to join my first CAS on Sunday as the newest design team member.  I'm very excited to participate with my European friends!

This is the first challenge for the new year and the theme is Winter.  Come on over and play along, we are excited to see what you come up with!

Here is my take on the challenge.

It has been unusually cold here, and we have all felt like snow people dreaming about when summer will come and warm us up!

This card is a one layer card.

I stamped my snowman and colored him with Copic Markers.  I then stamped the flip flops and added the dream bubble.

I then stamped my sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed.  As a finishing touch, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the flip flops!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Stamps:  Paper Smooches, Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things
  • Copic Markers
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Addicted to CAS - CAKE

I'm thrilled to be part of the design team here at Addicted to CAS!  What a great honor!

The challenge for today is CAKE!  I can't think of a better way to kick off the start of my tenure here!

Jaydee is the inspiration for this tag!  We also are thrilled to have Elizabeth Stewart with us as our guest designer, so head on over and see what the design team came up with.

We, of course, can't wait to see what your creativity brings!

I started off by stamping my image and sentiment with Versafine ink, so I can use clear embossing powder to heat emboss the image.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I also used my Copic markers to add a few dots surrounding my stars around the cake.

As a final touch, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the stars and popped the panel on some foam tape and done!

  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Bazzill Cardstock:  Cotton Candy
  • Lawn Fawn Stamps:  Bake Me A Cake

Tag You're It Challenge #38

It has been a wet week so very few outdoor activities this week---until today.  My husband and I were able to play some tennis this morning---yeah! Then we are heading off for some lunch together.  And on top of that it is the first Tag You're It Challenge for 2016! What a great start to the coming weekend!

The inspiration tag is from our fearless leader Tracey McNeely!  This tag is so cute--love the elephant and the soft colors.

I was inspired by Tracey's watercolor background and colors:  grey, red and a splash of yellow.  Here is what I came up with...

I cut my tag from watercolor paper, then added lots of water to the paper.  I used some distressed ink to create the background.

On cardstock, I stamped my two images and colored them with Copic markers---keeping with the colors Tracey used in her design.

I then stamped my sentiment on some black cardstock and heat embossed it.  I popped up my spaceman and planet on foam tape and that was it!

Thanks Tracey for the inspiration!

  • My Favorite Things Dies:  Tags

CAS Birthday

Even though we currently are in a cold snap, my husband and I made it out to the tennis courts late this morning.  He kept me running which in the end did warming me up :)  Thanks husband for braving the cold with me!!!

I have a few January birthdays so I'm making a few cards.  Gotta keep it clean and simple since I'm still making a few New Year's cards!

Here's what I came up with...

This is a one layer top folding card.  I simply stamped the presents across the card and colored them with Copic markers.  I then stamped the sentiments and added a bit of Wink of Stella to the ribbons and that was it!

Truly clean and simple!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Cardstock 110lbs
  • Stamplorations Stamp
  • Simon Says Stamps:  Birthday Sentiments
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Wink of Stella
