Happy Friday! The dampness outside has kept me close to home today. I wrapped a few Christmas presents---yes, early and did a bit of yard work. I had an opportunity to finish up this card that I started a few days ago, but haven't been able to finish until now. I'm stepping away from Christmas today as I was inspired by the current CASology challenge.
Here's more about the challenge....though since my family is more scientifically minded and not as motivated by sweets, pie always had a different meaning around here. I remember alway making a "pie" on March 14 for my son to take to school to enjoy in math class....been several years since I did that but I still think about it.
Here's my take on the challenge...
I stamped my mad scientist on card stock and colored him with Copic markers. I added a bit of light yellow around him to give him a little bit of a "glow" (it's hard to see in this photo).
I then die cut the white card stock with my cloud die and adhered it to dark grey cardstock. I then stamped and heat embossed my sentiment.
As a final touch, I popped the white part of the card stock on foam tape and called it a day!
Actually a pretty simple card...one that my family can appreciate :)

This is adorable and wonderfully done. We always celebrate Pi day here as well, but I could not think of such a clever way to make a card about it. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteThat mad scientist gave me a good giggle. Great coloring and fabulous take on the cue word! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteOh, how clever!!! I must confess I'm a sucker for pie, I mean the one you bake.....LOL!! this other Pi gave me such headaches in High School and it's not yummy at all.
ReplyDeleteBut I love your card, that scientist kind of looks like my Physics teacher, goodness!!! Your coloring of him is fabulous, thank you for sharing this fun card at CASology.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
Susan, I actually made a "Pi Day" card for my daughter last March 14th, too! (Glad I'm not alone!) I have always loved this mad scientist image and I really love the yellow outlining...he is glowing!! Thanks for joining in the fun at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your take on the cue card this week!

Hey Susan!! Super cute card!! Right, scientist use "pi" too. Its amazing what we learn in our younger years. Why did we need to know? Wait, I know for this challenge, LOL. Your coloring is amazing!! Thank you so much for playing with us this week at CASology.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this card, Susan! :) How fun and perfect for pi! Math has never been a favorite of mine, but I well remember the days of using pi! I prefer edible pie these days! ;)
