Less is More - Books

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More today.  This weeks challenge is Books!  Such a fun challenge.  I love to read, so this is just perfect.  I made a few cards and had my son and husband pick the one that I should use.  They both decided on this one.

This is an easy one layer card.  I started by stamping and masking my books.  Colored them in with Copics.  I then added the sentiment and the heart.  I die cut part of the card to provide some interest.
For the bottom part.  I sponged on a light yellow distressed ink, then used an fun alphabet stencil and used a darker distressed ink.
The bottom strip adds a little color to a CAS card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!  Hope you can join us for this challenge!

  1. Brilliant card Susan! The first thing that caught my eye was the gorgeous bright strip at the base with the stencilled letters. I just love it - so cheerful! Adding a row of die cut dots perfectly divides it from the design 'up top' and is a great touch. Your Copic coloured books are so cute, and I love the fun sentiment. Have a great weekend! x

  2. This is so cute and fun Susan, love all your colours here, superb detail to the base of the card with your inky blending and letter stencil. Just too clever and what a perfect sentiment too. Enjoy your weekend. Sarah x

  3. Cute, and I love how you inked that bottom strip.

  4. Super-dooper design Susan. The happy bright colours are perfect for those smiley books. Love the crispness of the stencilling and that die cut line is just fab! xx

  5. This is fabulous Susan ! This yellow strip with these ABC letters is so bright, it pops up the two books and the lovely sentiment ! I love it ! Thanks for sharing.

  6. You have the perfect collection of cute images, Susan - these books are just so fun and I love the sentiment too! Great touch with the alphabet border at the bottom - it adds lots of dimension to your one layer card. Have a great week x

  7. Brilliant sentiment for this challenge, Susan! And a cute little one layer card too, love the colours and the strip along the bottom was a great addition xx

  8. I love this, those books are soooo cute with the little faces on! xxx
