Less is More - Water

Happy New Year!  Wow, it has been awhile since I have posted anything...but now I'm back!

We are having the first challenge of the new year over at Less is More!  Our theme for this challenge is water.  I was a little late in getting my act together, so here is what I came up with!

Super quick and easy card, which I needed this time.  I have this little cutie pie, going through a little puddle of water.

I tried to have my little guy go through a more aggressive puddle, but then my colors bled and it was a mess, so I stuck with something simple.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Addicted to CAS - Rain

What a beautiful week...it feels like the middle of summer!  The dog is wiped out because he is not yet ready to for the heat!

I have a giveaway going on...if you are interested, check it out here!

We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS.  Our theme for this challenge is Rain.  We had plenty of that up until this past week.  So in honor of my puppy, who doesn't like the rain, here is my take on the challenge.

I started by stamping my main image (Penny Black) with Copic friendly ink and colored my little puppy!

Then using distressed ink I sponged two types of ink:  squeezed lemonade and Mustard Seed over my sun ray stencil from My Favorite Things.

I then die cut my cloud parade from Simon Says Stamp and glued it down.  I added some vellum to a few of the clouds to give it some interest.

I found a sentiment that fit perfectly in the open space and used my Versafine Ink, my favorite sentiment ink.

CAS on Friday - Color Me Pretty

We got one day on the courts between storms.  Better than nothing.  Next week is expected to be much better...but still hoping for dry courts tomorrow to play with the husband!

We have another challenge starting today at CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this week is to use markers or pencils.  Here's my take on the theme...

I tried something a bit different.  I colored the background and left the main image white.  This dog actually looks like my puppy Baxter.  He is all white with dark eyes and nose!  He is sooooo cute!

The little squares are cut using a die then coloring the background with Copic markers.

I used the inlaid die technique to make this card easy to mail.  I've been liking the flat cards lately.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Ombre

It has been a bit of a hectic week, and next week is worse, so I'm happy to be able to finish an inspiration card before everything comes to a boiling point.  We have a new challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  As you can see, our code word is Ombre.  Super fun!

Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...

I choose to do something a bit different.  I focused my ombre highlights to the sentiment.  Which I added here with the inlaid die technique, to make this card easy to mail.

I stamped and colored my giraffes.  So sweet!

Here's a bit of a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Friday - Birthday

We have a new challenge starting over at CAS on Friday!  Our theme for this week is Birthday!  Just perfect as we are moving into the busy birthday season for our family.

Remember, I have a giveaway happening now---check it out here!

Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

For my main image, I stamped this cute guy and masked him.  I then added a few balloons!  I colored him with Copic markers.  I then thought this fun sentiment from Penny Black would go nicely so I cut it out and used my distress inks to add a bit of an ombre effect!

I really wanted to add a bit of Wink of Stella, but thought as a masculine card, that might be a bit too much!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see I added a bit of foam tape to the sentiment to make it pop.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Spring Walk

Spring has certainly sprung here...the flowers are out in full force and there have been days of rain in between. This is my favorite time of year so all is good!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More. The theme for this challenge is Spring Walk.  How fun is that!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...here's my take on the challenge...

I started by stamping this cute little guy on some card stock and coloring him with copic markers.

I then added the clouds and used the inlaid die technique after sponging them with distress ink. Then stamped the sentiment.

Here's a close up of my card.  You can see I used the inlaid die technique for the clouds.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Frame

It's been a bit of a rough week, but things are smoothing out.  Hopefully, we are in the clear for a bit.

We do have a new challenge starting over at Less is More!  Our challenge theme this week is "Use a Frame". Here's my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I started off by stamping the main image on my cardstock.  I then cut the smaller rectangle. Then I colored the dog with copic markers.  Once colored, I masked off the dog and added the clouds.  I had also stamped the balloon on a scrap of cardstock and colored it with copics.  I then put the piece back together glued the balloon and added the hearts to the side.  The final touch was adding the sentiment.

I haven't decided if this will be a birthday card or just a "hello" card! I guess I won't know until I use it!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see that I used the inlaid die technique to create a frame.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Sunday - Umbrella

It's been quite busy on this end...but managed to slip in some tennis.  Today I'll be heading over to the gym to get in a bit of exercise.  But before I go, we do have another challenge starting over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Umbrella.  Lucky for me, I just purchased a new stamp set which has a few umbrellas!

Here's my take on the challenge....

I simply stamped the main image and colored this cute little dog with copics.  I then stamped the sentiment.

I wanted to add a bit of color so I decided to use this cloud die and pull the colors I used from the Umbrella.  I used distress ink to color some paper and then die cut the clouds.

All in all, pretty simple!

Here's a close up of the card.  This little guy is so cute!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Harvest

I was out on the court three times this week.  Yeah!  Only in the gym twice.  I'm getting stronger every day, and just in time for the season to start...two week the first matches begin!  Yeah!  Now I just need to get the hubby, to get out on the court with me...soon I hope!

We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS!  The theme for this challenge is Harvest. So many fun options here....I was thinking of two different directions and in the end only had time for one.  Here's my take on the challenge, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

You even have a chance to win a gift certificate to A Day for Daisies!

This is a super simple card.  I stamped this cute little scene from Penny Black.  My son gave this stamp to me as a stocking stuffer last Christmas :)

I colored the image with copic markers.  Then cut the red card stock and heat embossed the sentiment on the top.  Mounted the speech bubble on foam tape and that was it!

Here's a close up of the card, you can see the dimension of the speech bubble.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, you even have a chance to win a gift card to A Day for Daisies....doesn't get much better than that!
