Cupcakes

Today was my rest day...lots of tennis, a three hour match, yesterday and my body needs a little rest for some cycling tomorrow.  My husband made be a great dinner, so I have some time now to post this latest card. Thanks husband!

I'm trying to make several birthday cards and this one I made for my friend Teree who is a terrific cupcake maker, but in the end, I sent her a different card!

This is a super easy card to make.  I simply stamped the cupcake on white card stock and colored them with copics.  I then stamped my little hearts in the white space.

I embossed the sentiment on black card stock and done!

Here's a close up of the card.  I made a slight mistake on one of the cupcakes, but you can't tell too much!  Well, I guess that makes it homemade right?

CAS on Sunday - Thank You

It's been a hot day today, with lots going on.  I had a bit of yard work to do, so that kept me busy this morning, then I nearly forgot that we have a new challenge starting over on CAS on Sunday!

For this challenge, our theme is "Thank You" cards.  Come on over and join the challenge, I'm sure there is someone that would appreciate a handmade thank you card from you!

Our next door neighbor, a young middle school boy, traveled to Japan this summer by himself!  He came back and brought us some cookies!  This card is for him!

For this card, I wanted to use some old stamps, unfortunately these are out of print.  But, I like them, this little guy is so cute!

I started by stamping the images with Versafine ink, then coloring them with my Zig Clean Real Brush Pens.  I then cut the card with the speech bubble and popped it up on foam tape.

Added a few red and green glitter stars, and that was it!  Quick and simple!

Here's a close up of the card, showing a bit more of the dimension created by the foam tape!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Welcome

Had a great day on the tennis court this morning with the husband.  Terrific workout and I think I have my mojo back...thanks to the husband!

We have another challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS today.  Here's our code word for this challenge.  Hope you choose to play along, as you have the opportunity to win a gift certificate from one of my favorite stores...Create a Smile.  If you haven't checked them out, go on and do so, they have the cutest stamp set.  I just ordered a few, and I'm sure I'll receive them soon :)

I typically go to my little house stamps for this theme, but I find myself in need of baby cards lately so I thought I would go that route.  I'm also going to start looking for new ways to combine stamps, so here is my first attempt.

I started by stamping my little critter.  I then masked him off and stamped the balloons from my other stamp set, and had to mask off the elephant since it is attached to the balloons!

Once stamped I colored my card with copic markers.  Added the sentiment on the side and done.

I'm happy with my fun and pretty quick card.  I love coloring so this gave me lots of opportunity!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Tactile

Back from a bit of vacation and boy has it been busy.  Been hitting the tennis court and am getting back into it...was a bit rusty, but working that out.

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More.  The theme for this challenge is Tactile. This challenge will run for two weeks, so you have lots of time of join in on the fun.

Here's my take on the challenge...

I love these little snow peeps...they are so cute.  I started by die cutting the snow peeps from my main panel.  I then stamped and colored the images from the negative space.  Once colored with copics, I glued them onto the folding card stock.

I then took the top layer and stamped my sentiment. I then used embossing paste along with my snowflake stencil---love that embossing paste.

Lastly, I adhered the top panel to the folding card stock and the snow peeps peek out perfectly!

Here is a bit of a close up that shows the dimension of the embossing paste and the cut panel.

A fun and quick Christmas Card---in July!

Would love to see what you come up with...

Tag You're It Challenge #52

Busy week, getting back from vacation...laundry, yard work, and generally lots to do! Always fun to go on vacation, but good to come home as well. Thanks husband for organizing a great vacation!

We have another challenge going on over at Tag You're It! Come on over and join us.  If you win this challenge, you will have the opportunity to create the inspiration tag for a future challenge!

For this challenge, Amy Tsuruta, winner of a previous challenge, has created this fun inspiration tag. Such a cute tag.  For this challenge tag, I was inspired by the flowers and the little bit of bling Amy added to the top of the tag.  Also, I don't typically add a tag to a card, so I was inspired by that as well.

Here's my take on the challenge...

Okay, I remade this tag three times.  The first time, I added all of my sequins to the bottom of the tag---didn't like that.  I then remade the tag as it looks here, but there I somehow got a huge stain on it...probably from the chocolate chip cookie I was eating :)

Super simple tag, using my favorite flower stamp set from Simon Says Stamps.  I then added the sentiment on the top.  I popped up the tag on foam tape and added it to the striped paper.

As a final touch, I added a bit of sequins for the bling!
