Time for another challenge over at Less is More. This week our theme is Spiders/Insects! Perfect timing since Halloween is around the corner and I have a few spider stamps that would work just perfectly with this theme.
Here is my take on the challenge...hope you join us!
Never thought of making Halloween cards, but this critter is just too cute.
I started by using distress ink to color some embossing paste. I then stamped, cut and colored my spider.
I heat embossed the sentiment and then adhered everything to this small square cardstock.
I'm really liking the smaller square cards. They fit into a A4 envelop, but are so cute!
Here's a close up of the card.
You can see the dimension I created by popping up the happy spider and the sentiment banner on foam.
Come on over and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

That spider isn't happy, he's hungry! Look at those fangs! Tee hee. Love this card. You're right, the square shape works really well and gives a cute note card feel. The stencil background looks fab behind the (hungry) spider and the black and purple colour scheme is so striking. Love it! Have a great weekend x
ReplyDeleteYou have some really great stamps in your stash, Susan. Very envious! Fabulous colouring as always and I love how the web draws your eye into the centre. Great card xx
ReplyDeleteOh my, that spider is just fantastic, Susan and perfect for this week's theme! He really made me smile and the purple background made with the embossing paste is fabulous. I hope you have a great week x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Oh, and did I say Brilliant! I absolutely love this card Susan. That image is just amazing and looks wonderful in those colours. The super web gives the impression that this spider is leaping from it towards you...but no need to be scared as it's such a cute spider. A wonderfully fun Halloween card. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat Lim card xx Jan
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Susan. Great colour scheme and your spider is such fun.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this card Susan, too cute to be scary but then again I never knew spiders had such big teeth so perhaps it is a little frightening. Either way it's a fantastic Halloween card, full of gorgeous colour and detail. Have a good week. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteI already did not love spiders but spiders with teeth even less! But I must admit that this one, even with teeth, is very cute ! I also love your spider web background ! Very beautiful Halloween card ! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAs spiders go - this one is so cute and the colouring and texture is fantastic. Love it! x
