Addicted to CAS - Plaid

We have another fun challenge starting today over at Addicted to CAS!  Hope you have time to come on over and see the inspiration and join in on the challenge!

The code word for the challenge is Plaid!  If you play along you have a chance to win a gift certificate to Create a Smile, which is a wonderful stamp company!  Love them!

This was a bit of a challenge, because I don't have any plaid paper! Also, wasn't sure how I wanted to use the plaid paper that I would have to create.  In the end, here's what I came up with...

I'm still in the mode of making birthday cards, you can never have enough!

I started by making my plaid paper (since I don't have any) by using my diagonal stamp and some orange and blue ink.

I then stamped my magician and colored him with copic markers.  I added the sentiment to the bottom and then added a little string for the magician to hold the balloon.

This will be the perfect birthday card for my nephew!

Here's a close up to give you a bit more detail.

Less is More - Design Paper

Another beautiful weekend on tap!  Excited for my match this morning, then hanging with the husband the rest of today and tomorrow!  Doesn't get any better than that!

Well, the one thing that makes it a bit better is another challenge over at Less is More!  This week we are focusing on Design Paper!  Come over and join us for this challenge.  We would love to see what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I've had this paper from Lawn Fawn for quite some time, but haven't had the chance to use it.  I started by picking out the colors of the design paper, then going through my stamps to figure out what images would best highlight these colors.

Here's what I came up with!

Some simple stamping then coloring with copic markers. A fun a quick birthday card!

Let's see what you come up with!

Less is More - Saints and Dragons

A busy week this week, lots going on that I almost forgot about the newest challenge over at Less is More.  Come on over and join in, this week's challenge is Saints and Dragons, super fun!

Here's my take on the challenge:

For this challenge, I stamped main image and colored this little cutie with copic markers.  To give a bit of dimension on this one layer card, I added a bit of blue ink around the focal point.

After coloring my image, I looked in my stamp set for just the perfect sentiment---and found it with this one.  I made a little banner and heat embossed the sentiment.

Done!

Hope you come on over and join the challenge.

CAS on Sunday - Tic Tac Toe

What a terrific weekend...it is beautiful spring like weather.  I'm spending time just enjoying the day and hanging with the husband!

We have another challenge over at CAS on Sunday starting today, so if you have some time come on over and join in.  We would love to see what you come up with!

Here is my take on the challenge...

This is a simple card.  I started by cutting my white panel and heat embossing the confetti background.

I then cut a hat with patterned paper and die cut a shiny little tassel on top with foil paper!

I heat embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder.

As a final touch, I popped up the hat on foam tape.

Since the theme was Tic Tac Toe, I choose to use the Patterned Paper, Stamp, and Something Shiny!

Hope you come and join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

Our theme for this challenge is Rain!  I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with this one, so this is my third card that got the go ahead from the husband (aka, my #1 fan).

Here's my take on the challenge...

I started by cutting a mask with my cloud die.  Then applying some distressed ink to make my clouds.  I then stamped my rain drops, then the sentiment.

To provide a bit of color, I added a few little sun shapes to the base of the card and colored them in with copics.

I then added a bit of foam tape to the smaller rectangle and that was it!

Today is a new challenge over at Less is More, come on over and join us.  This week's challenge is to use three stamps.  You can use the same stamps to stamp multiple images, but limit your design to three stamps.

Here is my take on the challenge, looking forward to see what you come up with!

This is a simple one layer card.  I started by stamping the sentiment. This allowed me to ensure I was able to center the sentiment.

I then stamped the little flowers in three different color inks in a circle. Then I added some green leaves.

Simple!

Less is More - Geometric Pattern

It's been a busy week.  A few tennis matches this week, but my husband is still on the injured list so he has been unable to play this week.  I miss hitting with him.  Hopefully, he will be better soon!

There is another challenge going on over at Less is More #271.  This week's challenge is One Layer Card, one of my favorite challenges, and geometric patterns. This combination was a bit challenging for me.  But in the end, I focused on circles.

Here's what I came up with.  Hope you will join us, we would love to see what you come up with!

For this card, I started by placing my sentiment. I then stamped the string of lights around the sentiment.

I colored the lights in with my Zig Real Brush markers.  I wanted to use these markers, because they are so bright and I thought would fit it great with the sentiment.

After coloring in the lights, I added a bit of Wink of Stella.  And as a final touch I cropped the corners on the bottom of the card.

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Cardstock
  • Hero Arts Stamps
  • Versamark Onyx Black Ink
  • Zig Real Brush Markers

CASology - Washi Tape

We had a fun time at the wedding yesterday...and it spilled over to today with a fun brunch with a few close friends.  All very fun and we wish the bride and groom all the best.

When I came home, I needed to focus on doing something sitting down, cause my feet are still killing me from all of the dancing in high heels!

I decided to focus on the newest challenge at CASology Washi Tape.  I was recently in Japan and found a few interesting rolls, and pulled them out.

Here's what I came up with...

I started by putting down my washi tape...then die cutting the sentiment and the leaves.

I added a bit of distressed ink to the leaves and added a few little glitter sparkles to some of the leaves.

All in all a pretty simple card!

CAS on Sunday - Flowers

The weekend is winding down.  We had a wonderful time at the wedding--two full days of activities!

Now time for a new challenge over at CAS on Sunday!  For this challenge our theme is flowers. Perfect timing for spring!

Here is what I came up with...looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

For this card I stamped my flower image and watercolored it with distress ink.

I then added the pearl dots at the center of each flower.

Then I stamped my sentiment.

All in all, a pretty simple card!

  • Watercolor paper
  • Hero Arts Stamp
  • WPlus9:  Doddle Flower Stamp
  • Versacolor:  Vintage Sepia

Less Is More - White Space?

Lots going on today, including a new challenge over at Less is More.  This challenge is all about white space that is not actually white.  This was a bit challenging for me as I really like to use white or beige for most of my cards.  However, after trying out a few things, I decided to go with yellow and red.

I started by stamping my sentiment. I then cut a few hearts from pink cardstock and added a bit distressed ink.  I wanted one heart to pop out so I cut it from glitter paper.

I then used the inlaid die technique to place the pink/red hearts down then popped my glitter heart on foam tape.

Would love to see what you come up with for this challenging challenge!

Supplies:
  • Bazzill Cardstock:  Candy Hearts, Sour Lemon
  • Glitter Paper
  • Versacolor Satin Red Ink
  • Reverse Confetti:  Tons to Say
  • Lawn Fawn Dies:  Hearts

ATCAS Challenge - Inlaid Dies

We are heading off to a wedding today!  Always love to attend weddings so much joy and fun! Before I head out wanted to get this post out.

There is a new challenge going on over at Addicted to CAS! Here is the code word!  Tons of fun options with this code word. Also, you have a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to Happy Little Stampers for just playing along.  Hope you join in!

Here's my take on the challenge!

It has been a couple of busy months for birthday for me, so here is another birthday card!  This is a quick CAS card.

For this card I sponged some distress ink on a piece of card stock and used my die to cut the pieces.  I then placed the die on the card panel and inlaid the various pieces...it's just like putting together a puzzle...which I LOVE!
