Less is More - Overstamping

I'm taking the day off tennis...a little too much in the last several weeks.  I need to rest these old bones :)

We have another challenge starting today over at Less is More.  Our theme for this week is Overstamping.  Lots of opportunity here...you can use layer stamps or just stamp over other stamped images.  I don't own any layer stamps so I took another route.  Here's my take on the challenge...

This was a quick and easy card.  I simply stamped my main images with Pigment Ink, then stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink.  Super simple!

Here's a close up of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

ATCAS - Leaves

Well, I'm ready for this latest heatwave to be over...it is fall after all!  We have a new challenge starting over at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this challenge is Leaves...since it doesn't seem like fall at the moment, let me create the feeling of fall.  Here's my take on the challenge...

To make this card, I started by sponging some distress ink on some paper.  I then die cut this leaf image.  I have been liking the inlaid die technique so I used it here for both the leaves and the sentiment.  I cut the sentiment from a deep brown card stock.  All in all a pretty simple card!

Here's a close up of the card.  The inlaid die really makes it easy to mail.

Looking forward to seeing your design!

Paper Smooches Spotlight #4

I'm excited to be a guest designer at Paper Smooches...such a fun opportunity.  Here is my fourth and final installment of their newest releases!

Thank you Kim for this opportunity to be a member of your team!

For this card, I did some partial die cutting.  I stamped my image and die cut just the top 3/4 and cut the rest by hand to create the little snow mountain.  I then colored my image with Copic markers added the newest boxed sentiment stamp and the bottom and done.  To add a bit of interest to the card, I added a few snow flakes to the grey background with molding paste.  Pretty simple and easy for mass production!

Here's a close up of the card. You can see I added a bit of foam tape to the white card stock to add a bit of dimension!

This little guy is so sweet...this little frog is just waiting to become a prince!

I stamped him and colored him with my copic markers.  I then masked him and added a bit of distressed ink around him to make him pop.  I then added the speech bubble and heat embossed my sentiment.  I thought it needed a bit more magic...so I added my gold stars.  This is a 4x4 card...he seemed perfect for a smaller card!

Here's a close up of the card.

Don't forget to head on over to YNS and enter a comment to win a stamp set of your choice!

Less is More - Monsters

Wow, another week gone by...isn't it all going by so fast...you know Christmas is almost here!

We have another challenge starting over at Less is More!  Our theme for this challenge is Monsters!  One of my favorite themes...just love all the cute monsters stamps that are available!  Here is my take on the challenge...

For this card I started by stamping and coloring my main image with Copic markers.  I then die cut the white card stock and added a bit of foam tape to add some dimension.  I ended up adding a bit of foam tape to each tree but that probably wasn't necessary.  I then popped it up some some 4 x 4 grey card stock.  Pretty quick and easy!

Here's a close up of the image.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I'm excited to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamp.

Today we are kicking off our newest challenge.  This is either a color or sketch challenge.  You can pick either one, or combine both. Winners have a chance to receive a gift certificate to use in the store!  How fun is that!

Here's my take on the challenge...I choose to focus on colors!

For this card I choose this cutest little monster from the Silly Birthday Monster Stamp Set!  I picked three colors from the color palette and off I went.  I used my copics to color the image.  I then popped him up on some foam tape and added the little sentiment at the top and bottom of the card.  This is a 4 x 4 card...one of my favorite sizes.  Cute and quick!

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see the dimension of the foam tape I added to pop this little guy up.  Super cute!

CAS on Friday - Flowers

We are ending a brief heat wave for October....at least it gets hot during the day, but cools off nicely in the evenings.

We have a new challenge starting over on CAS on Friday.  Our theme for this challenge is Flowers.  this is always a popular theme.  Here's my take on the challenge...'

This is a quick CAS card.  I simply stamped the flower images on my card stock in a few different colors.  I added a few pearls to the center to dress it up a bit.  I die cut the word "Birthday" and used the inlaid die technique to add this to the card, as it makes mailing a breeze!

Here's a close up of the card.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Addicted to CAS - Pumpkin

Wow...can't believe it is already Halloween time.  I was walking the dog and saw a funny little graveyard scene in the neighborhood...kinda freaked out the puppy a bit!

We have another challenge starting today at Addicted to CAS!  Our theme for this challenge is Pumpkins.  While, I'm not a huge Halloween person...I have to say some of the cutest stamps are Halloween themed!

Here's my take on the challenge...

Okay this was a super quick and simple card...not just because I forgot about the challenge...but because this is my favorite style.

A little stamping and a bit of Copic coloring is all it takes!

Here's a bit of a close up.  You can see I added the colored panel on a bit of foam tape to give a bit of dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - OLC Stars

We have a new challenge starting today at Less is More.  Our theme for our One Layer Challenge is Stars!  Lots of terrific opportunities here...I made a few cards, but didn't find them to be simple enough, so I came back to this one.

As you can see, this card is pretty simple to recreate.  I just stamped the sentiment at the bottom.  It is a stamp from Alley Way Stamp company that is no longer in existence.  I then stamped and colored a few stars.  It still looked a bit empty so I added a few dots with my Copic markers.

Here's a close up of the card.  Pretty quick and easy.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Paper Smooches - Spotlight #2

I'm excited to be a guest designer at Paper Smooches...such a fun opportunity.  Here is my second installment of their newest release....

This is the perfect card for mass production...pretty quick to complete.

I simply used the "Merry Christmas" die and cut it on various colored card stocks---even using scrap paper stock, which is a bonus!  I then just adhered the script to the card base and added a few silver stars!

Here's a close up of the card.  I plan on making a few of these using my scrap paper!

Less is More - Hot and Spicy

We have another challenge starting today over at Less is More!  Our theme is a color challenge with the theme of Hot and Spicy.  How fun is that!  For my card, I thought I would focus on red---a hot and spicy color!

Here is my take on the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with..

I just had to use this stamp set when doing anything with Hot & Spicy....so I colored my little chef in read and a warm grey (maybe not hot for those of us who don't like it too spicy it is warm :))

I heat embossed some pots and pans in the corner of my card stock, then used the smooching method to add some spicy red.  I added a bit of foam tape to my chef and added my sentiment.

Here's a close up of the card.  You can see a bit of the dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

CAS on Friday - Halloween

Can you believe it...it is already October...another year end within grasp!

We have another challenge starting today at CAS on Friday!  The theme for this challenge is Fall or Halloween.  And while I'm not a bit fan of Halloween, except for giving out treats to the little ones, I love making Halloween cards.  I never would have thought of sending out Halloween cards...but the images are just too cute to pass up!

Here's my take on the challenge...

For this card, I stamped my image from Stamping Bella.  I then colored it with Copics.  I then used my My Favorite Things die cut to cut out the speech bubble and heat embossed the sentiment.  All in all a pretty quick card!

Your Next Stamp - Challenge #74

I'm excited to be a guest designer for Your Next Stamp. Today we are kicking off our newest challenge.  This is either a color or sketch challenge.  You can pick either one, or combine both. Winners have a chance to receive a gift certificate to use in the store!  How fun is that!

Here's my take on the challenge.

For this challenge, I focused on color. Of course, perfect for Halloween cards. I used one of my favorite stamp sets: Fang-tastic.  I colored this little guy with Copic Markers, then cut him out and added some foam tape to give him dimension.  I added a few strips of paper to the back to give the overall card a bit of color.

I heat embossed the sentiment and added a few enamel dots!

Here's a closeup of the card.  You can see the dimension of my little Frankinstein.

Be sure to stop by the YNS blog and check out more inspiration and enter your creation!
